Expertvuw’s team runs your monthly payroll — salary computation, payslips, TDS on salary, PF, ESI and professional tax — and keeps it aligned with the new labour codes, so employees are paid correctly and statutory dues are filed on time.
Payroll is more than paying salaries. Each month an employer has to compute gross pay, deduct tax at source on salary, deduct and deposit provident fund and employees’ state insurance contributions where applicable, pay state professional tax, and keep registers and payslips.
The four labour codes — on Wages, Social Security, Industrial Relations, and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions — came into force on 21 November 2025, replacing 29 earlier labour laws. The definition of “wages” under the codes affects how PF, gratuity and bonus are calculated, so salary structures should be reviewed.
From 1 April 2026, TDS on salary follows the Income-tax Act, 2025. Employees choose between the old and new tax regimes, and the employer deducts tax based on that choice.
Basis: Code on Wages, 2019; Code on Social Security, 2020 (in force from 21 November 2025); Income-tax Act, 2025; EPFO and ESIC portal guidance; State Professional Tax Acts. Last updated: 27 September 2026.
Establishments with 20 or more employees are generally covered by EPF, with contributions of 12% of wages from employer and employee.
ESI applies to covered establishments (generally 10 or more employees) for employees earning up to ₹21,000 a month.
PF and ESI contributions are generally paid by the 15th of the following month; TDS on salary by the 7th.
Under the labour codes, allowances excluded from wages are capped, which can increase the PF and gratuity base.
Professional tax is a state levy with its own slabs and due dates; not all states levy it.
Employers must issue Form 16 to employees for TDS on salary after the year ends.
Payroll errors affect employees directly and create statutory defaults.
