A clear HR policy manual tells employees what to expect and helps managers apply rules consistently. Expertvuw’s team drafts HR policies — from hiring and leave to conduct, POSH and exit — aligned with the labour codes in force from November 2025.
An HR policy manual (employee handbook) brings together the rules governing employment: recruitment and onboarding, probation and confirmation, working hours and attendance, leave, compensation and benefits, performance management, code of conduct, conflicts of interest, IT and data use, travel and expenses, grievance handling, disciplinary procedure and separation.
Since 21 November 2025, the four labour codes — on wages, social security, industrial relations, and occupational safety and working conditions — replace most earlier labour laws. They affect the definition of wages, working hours, leave, standing orders for larger establishments, and grievance redressal committees, so older manuals should be reviewed.
Workplaces with 10 or more employees must have an Internal Committee under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act), with a written policy and annual reporting. Employee personal data must be handled in line with the DPDP Act, 2023.
Basis: Code on Wages, 2019; Code on Social Security, 2020; Industrial Relations Code, 2020; OSH Code, 2020 (in force from 21 November 2025); POSH Act, 2013; Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Last updated: 27 September 2026.
