Cookie Policy and Cookie Consent – For Indian and International Website Visitors

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Analytics, advertising pixels and chat widgets place cookies and trackers on your visitors’ devices. Expertvuw’s team audits the cookies your site uses, classifies them, and drafts a cookie policy and consent banner text suited to Indian law and, where relevant, the EU GDPR and ePrivacy rules.

Overview

Why Cookie Consent Matters

Cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, SDKs, local storage) can collect personal data such as device identifiers, IP addresses and browsing behaviour. Essential cookies keep a site working; analytics, advertising and personalisation cookies are optional and usually involve third parties.

In India, where cookies process personal data, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires notice and consent for the purposes of processing — with the core obligations applying from 13 May 2027 under the DPDP Rules, 2025. For visitors in the EU and UK, the GDPR and ePrivacy rules require prior, opt-in consent for non-essential cookies, with an equally easy option to reject.

A cookie policy explains which cookies are used, why, by whom and for how long, and how users can change their choices. The banner should reflect real choices — pre-ticked boxes or “by continuing you accept” wording do not meet the stricter standards.

Basis: Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025; EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); EU ePrivacy Directive; UK PECR. Last updated: 27 September 2026.
