Expertvuw’s team manages monthly TDS and TCS deposits, quarterly statements, certificates and corrections for companies, LLPs, firms and individual deductors — so credits reach your vendors and employees and defaults are avoided.
Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) requires the payer to deduct tax on specified payments — salary, rent, contractor and professional fees, commission, interest and payments to non-residents — and deposit it with the government. Tax Collected at Source (TCS) applies to specified sales and receipts. Every deductor needs a TAN.
Compliance is a cycle: deduct at the correct rate, deposit by the due date, file quarterly statements, and issue certificates such as Form 16 and Form 16A. Errors show up quickly because the deductee’s credit in Form 26AS and AIS depends on your statement.
From 1 April 2026 the Income-tax Act, 2025 and the new Income-tax Rules apply, and several TDS sections and form numbers have changed. Statements and corrections for earlier periods continue under the 1961 Act framework.
Basis: Income-tax Act, 1961 (Chapter XVII-B and XVII-BB) and Income-tax Act, 2025; Income-tax Rules; TRACES and e-filing portal guidance. Last updated: 27 September 2026.
TDS is generally deposited by the 7th of the following month, with a later date for tax deducted in March.
TDS statements are due quarterly; the due dates for most deductors are 31 July, 31 October, 31 January and 31 May.
A fee of ₹200 per day applies for late filing of TDS statements, subject to the TDS amount (1961 Act provisions).
Interest applies for late deduction and late deposit, calculated monthly.
Where the deductee has not furnished a valid PAN, TDS generally applies at a higher rate.
Payments to non-residents need care on rates, DTAA benefit and the Form 145/146 process (earlier 15CA/15CB).
Most TDS notices come from small, repeated errors across quarters.
