Home / Company Law & Secretarial Services / DIR-3 KYC for Directors (DIN / DPIN)

Last updated: 2 October 2026
Every director and designated partner with a DIN must keep their KYC current with the MCA. From 2026 the full KYC is filed once every three years, with quick updates when contact details change. Our team files it for you and reactivates deactivated DINs.
A Director Identification Number (DIN) is needed to act as a director of a company or a designated partner of an LLP (earlier called DPIN for LLPs). The MCA keeps each DIN holder’s details current through DIR-3 KYC.
A deactivated DIN blocks the director from signing and filing forms for any company or LLP — so it is worth tracking.
Based on the Companies (Appointment and Qualification of Directors) Rules, 2014, as amended in December 2025. Last updated: 27 September 2026.
