The Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana helps micro and small non-farm businesses get collateral-free loans up to ₹20 lakh from banks, NBFCs and MFIs. Expertvuw’s team helps you choose the right category and prepare a complete application. The loan decision is the lender’s.
Under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY), member lending institutions — public and private banks, regional rural banks, small finance banks, NBFCs and MFIs — give loans to non-corporate, non-farm micro and small enterprises for income-generating activities in manufacturing, trading and services, including allied agricultural activities.
Loans are grouped into four categories: Shishu (up to ₹50,000), Kishore (above ₹50,000 up to ₹5 lakh), Tarun (above ₹5 lakh up to ₹10 lakh) and Tarun Plus (above ₹10 lakh up to ₹20 lakh), introduced from October 2024 for borrowers who have availed and repaid a Tarun loan. MUDRA loans do not require collateral, and are covered by the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units (CGFMU).
Applications are made to a lender directly or through the Udyamimitra portal. Lenders assess the business plan, KYC and repayment capacity; interest rates are set by each lender.
