Udyam registration is the gateway to a range of MSME benefits — from priority lending and collateral-free credit to protection against delayed payments and preferences in government purchases. Expertvuw’s team helps you check which benefits apply and put them to work.
Once an enterprise is registered on the Udyam portal and classified as micro, small or medium (using the limits revised from April 2025), it can access several benefits. Credit: MSME loans count as priority sector lending, and schemes like CGTMSE (collateral-free cover up to ₹10 crore), the Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme for machinery loans and PM MUDRA support borrowing.
Payment protection: under the MSMED Act, buyers must pay micro and small suppliers within the agreed period, not more than 45 days, with compound interest at three times the RBI bank rate on delays. Disputes can go to the MSME Facilitation Council through the Samadhaan portal, and unpaid dues can affect the buyer’s income-tax deduction.
Procurement and support: central ministries and PSUs target at least 25% of procurement from micro and small enterprises, with tender fee and EMD benefits. MSMEs can also access ZED certification support, technology and cluster schemes, and state incentives.
Basis: MSMED Act, 2006 (sections 15–18); MSME classification notification (April 2025); Public Procurement Policy for MSEs Order, 2012; CGTMSE and MCGS-MSME guidelines; Income-tax provisions on MSME dues. Last updated: 27 September 2026.
