The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) channels early-stage grants and debt to startups through selected incubators. Expertvuw’s team helps DPIIT-recognised startups check eligibility, confirm whether applications are currently open, and prepare a clear application. Selection is made by incubators under the scheme.
The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, run by DPIIT with a corpus of ₹945 crore, provides financial assistance to early-stage startups through eligible incubators across India. Startups apply on the Seed Fund portal and are evaluated by the incubators’ seed management committees.
Support is of two kinds: a grant of up to ₹20 lakh for proof of concept, prototype development or product trials, and up to ₹50 lakh through convertible debentures or debt-linked instruments for market entry, commercialisation or scaling up. Eligible startups are generally DPIIT-recognised, incorporated within the prescribed period, and should not have received more than a specified amount of government support earlier.
Application windows depend on the scheme and incubator availability. Reports indicate the startup application window closed around mid-2026, so the current status should be checked on the official Seed Fund portal before applying. Expertvuw can also help identify other grant and subsidy options.
