Every Indian company or LLP that has received foreign investment or made overseas investment must file the annual Foreign Liabilities and Assets (FLA) return with RBI. Expertvuw’s team prepares the return from your accounts, files it on RBI’s FLAIR portal and revises it after audit if needed.
The Annual Return on Foreign Liabilities and Assets (FLA return) is a statistical return that RBI uses to compile India’s international investment position. It is filed by Indian companies, LLPs and certain other entities that have received foreign direct investment and/or made overseas direct investment, with outstanding positions at the end of the financial year.
The return is filed online on RBI’s FLAIR portal. The normal due date is 15 July each year, and RBI sometimes extends it — for FY 2025-26, it was extended to 31 July 2026. If accounts are not yet audited, the return can be filed on unaudited figures and revised after the audit.
The return covers foreign equity and debt liabilities, overseas investments, and other external assets and liabilities. It requires consistent data with FIRMS filings and audited financial statements.
